Jubilee-Harlingen will open in August 2019 at 3501 South Palm Court Drive,
Harlingen, Texas 78552.
Last year, our district, Jubilee Academic Center, was approved by the Texas Education Agency for a re-brand, which supported our new district name, Jubilee Academies. The re-brand is a celebration of our growth and movement in a direction of a more consistent, overarching message of who we are and what we stand for as a family of schools linked together across the four Texas regions we serve (Central, South Central, Coastal Bend and Rio Grande Valley).
And, we are thrilled to announce the next big chapter for the Rio Grande Valley region! A new, state-of-the-art campus will be built in Harlingen, Texas, and in August 2019 our two Harlingen schools (Jubilee-Harlingen and Jubilee-Destiny) will merge and serve PK-8th grade in the new facility.
Jubilee-Harlingen opened its doors in the fall of 2011 under the leadership of Rio Grande Valley Assistant Superintendent, Mr. George Banda; Associate Director, Mr. John Jacobson; and Principal, Dr. Cindy Sadler. In 2013-2014, Jubilee-Harlingen had reached capacity, and in order to accommodate the growing student population, a second campus was opened and named Jubilee-Destiny. Dr. Sadler was the founding principal of Jubilee-Destiny, and served as principal at both campuses that school year. In 2015-2016, Ms. Tanya Perez was named principal of Jubilee-Destiny and has continued as principal since then.
Jubilee-Destiny and Jubilee-Harlingen focus on leadership and academic excellence while staying true to the family-focused culture Jubilee Academies exemplifies. That will not change. Rather, this is an opportunity to provide more families the opportunity to enroll in a tuition-free school and experience a culture that provides the skills all children need to be successful.
The new campus will be located at 3501 S. Palm Court Drive, Harlingen, Texas 78552 and will be known as Jubilee-Harlingen.
More information about the school and enrollment procedures will be available soon.
